Soaring, rethought.

For decades, soaring meant clubs, medicals, hangar fees and waiting lists. The BIRDY — the unique motor glider designed by Norbert Klenhart with aerodynamics by Prof. Loek Boermans — breaks with all of it: a high-performance sailplane in the 120 kg class, rigged in minutes, self-launching, with a whisper-quiet electric drive that also powers full motorised flight, and maintained on your own responsibility.

The BIRDY is defined by its particularly forgiving flight characteristics, unmatched structural strength in its class and a roomy cockpit with comfortable space even for tall pilots. Now in the ALPHAFROG Edition: equipped with the EFS avionics, which among other things make thermals and ridge lift visible and extend the aircraft with active safety features.

Active safety systems.

EFS Flight is Exentra's in-cockpit flight intelligence, layered on top of the trusted primary instruments. With the Pro package, synthetic vision combines AI-analyzed dual-camera detection, LIDAR ground sensing, and real-time airspace data into one intuitive display and automatically highlights nearby aircraft and restricted zones. Always-on connection via our own EFS Cloud keeps the aircraft linked to live data. In critical situations, the system calculates an optimized emergency path to the nearest airfield, while envelope protection and Angle-of-Attack (AoA) sensing — activated with the Autopilot System — actively prevent stalls before they occur.
